Barry M Make Me Blush | Review

Cream Blusher

Blusher is an indispensable item in any makeup collection, and it comes in many different varieties; including, but not limited to, powder, gel, tint, liquid, shimmer, stain, and the all-important, cream. Cream blusher has become quite popular of late due to the never-fading contour trend. Creamier textures make for easier blending than baked or powder based.

This cream blusher has been formulated with Vitamin C, Jojoba oil, and Shea butter. Vitamin C helps skin become brighter and healthier. Jojoba oil is a liquid wax made from vegetables and it is renowned for being tightly packed with vitamins and minerals, including vitamins E and B. Shea butter is a natural product produced inside the nuts of the shea tree, highly concentrated with Vitamin A. It helps combat dryness, blemishes and more. These ingredients make for a super smooth cream blush that glides over the apples of the cheeks and blends seamlessly.

Application

I tested the middle shade Rhubarb Crumble, but there are three shades to choose from in the collection, the lightest being Peach Melba and the darkest Raspberry Charlotte. The middle shade works well on my fair skin but it’s quite neutral and I think it would work well for both pink and yellow undertones. Because the product comes in a stick, there’s no need for transferring product as it can be applied straight to the cheeks and blended with either a brush, fingers or slightly damp beauty blender (such as the cruelty-free and vegan friendly Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge). The product stays in place well throughout the day, especially if set with a translucent powder.

Summary

Although there are not many shades to choose from, overall this is a really good cream blusher from a great brand. It glides on well, blends easily and looks good on the skin.
