e.l.f. Oil Free Flawless Finish Foundation Review

e.l.f. is a budget friendly, cruelty free beauty brand with lots of vegan options available. One of the vegan items on offer is the Oil Free Flawless Finish Foundation! It comes in eleven shades. I usually get the lightest shade which is Light Ivory but the lightest I could find in my local store was Natural so I picked that one up instead.

My skin is really pale and as you can see on my arm this shade is too dark and too orangey, but on my face it really doesn’t look bad at all and it doesn’t oxidise too much at all.

The formula is quite lightweight and the coverage is medium. It calms down redness and brightens up tired areas of skin. I think the finish would be better in the lighter shade for me, but I’m trying to judge the formula without noting the shade!

For £7.50, I think this foundation is definitely worth a try. It’s not cakey or overly drying. There are eleven shades to choose from which might be a little limited but not as much as some brands. For a better finish, I recommend using a primer first and blending with a damp beauty sponge (I like the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge).

The things I like:

  • Reasonably priced
  • Cruelty free and vegan friendly
  • Nice formula and finish
  • The square glass bottle

The things I don’t like:

  • Eleven shades is kind of limited as most brands now offer around 20.
  • It’s hard to get out of the pump but this might just a product default.
