What is the problem with palm oil?
“The industry is linked to major issues such as deforestation, habitat degradation, climate change, animal cruelty and indigenous rights abuses in the countries where it is produced, as the land and forests must be cleared for the development of the palm oil plantations.” – Say No To Palm Oil
Palm oil can be found in so many products including, but not limited to:
Food – nut butters, margarines, fast food, cereals, noodles, crisps, doughnuts, lollypops, chocolate. dried fruit. biscuits, bread, cookies, ice cream, ready meals, and pet food.
Home, health & beauty – cleaning products, moisturisers, cleansers, lip balms, lipsticks, fabric softeners, liquid detergents, toothpastes, mascara, foundation, nail polish, vitamins, shampoo, conditioner, and soap.
Below I’ve listed a few categories and brands which sell palm oil free products. Please note, these brands are all palm oil free but not exclusively vegan! I have included M&S and Waitrose separately as they are the two UK supermarkets that produce the most palm oil free product ranges.
